A fatal accident earlier today occurred in Kasese and claimed the life of a girl who was in her senior 4 vacation and left 3 other students injured.
The four students had gone for a tour allegedly organized by the school when the accident happened. They were immediately rushed to hospital and unfortunately, one of them died on the way.The second girl is still in hospital with serious injuries.
Nicole Ahumuza Rubondo, a resident of Entebbe was identified as the student who lost her life as a result of this accident. Her father, Mr. Ernest Rubondo the Executive Director of Petroleum Authority of Uganda announced the burial program at 4pm.
There will be a funeral service at St. John’s church Entebbe on 19th January and the body will be transported to Lwengo district where she will be laid to rest on the 20th January.
The traffic officers at the scene of the accident advised travelers to be extra careful while using roads.
It is important that people take caution while using roads especially in this period when roads are congested. Also, road signs need to be observed as they guide drivers on safe road usage.
We only hope that her colleague who is in hospital with serious injuries recovers soon and may Nicole’s soul rest in eternal peace.
