There has been confusion about the Samsung Galaxy Fold smartphone selling about a million copies, a number that Samsung itself denies. Well, thanks to one of the company’s executives, Koh Dong-jin we have a number!
He told reporters at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada that Samsung has sold ‘’400,000-500,000’’ Galaxy Fold Smartphones. Not so bad for a phone that costs $1,920 even considering the low sales of 400,000 and the embarrassing delay in launch and cracking screens.
More to that, we haven’t seen the last of Samsung’s foldable phones as they are reportedly planning to release a cheaper version later in the early months of 2020, a successor to the Galaxy Fold is also rumored to be in the making by Samsung.
As we wait, it should be noted that Samsung is not the only company manufacturing foldable phones, Motorola also made the Razr 2019 that is an iconic throwback to the original Razr V3 flip phone only that the 2019 version folds like a flip phone unlike the Galaxy Fold.
It is rumoured that the Razr will be released in February 2020. So if you were a big fan of flip phones back then, the razr is definitely what you’ve been waiting for. It will be a little pricey though, at US$1500 but if you’re a lover of good things, I’m sure you also know they don’t come cheap.
